FBI Nominee Appears Before Senate Intelligence Panel

He says legislators mischaracterized statements he made on podcasts or social media.

Kash Patel, President Donald Trump’s nominee for FBI director, faced questions from the Senate Intelligence Panel during his confirmation hearing on Thursday.

Senator Dick Durbin asked whether the nation was safer after President Trump’s pardoning of January 6 defendants while Senator Richard Blumenthal questioned Patel’s refusal to release his classified remarks made regarding the mishandling documents case against President Trump.

Senator Adam Schiff asked about the J6 Prison Choir and Patel’s promotion of their song. Senator Cory Booker asked if Patel had seen President Trump declassify documents at Mar-a-Lago. Patel urged Senator Booker to obtain the records legally.

After the hearing, Patel claimed legislators made “grotesque mischaracterizations” of his remarks.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For the Senators as they prepare for confirmation votes on the president’s remaining nominees.
  • For wisdom for Senate Majority Leader John Thune as he presides over business in the upper chamber.
